Hospital Checklist
This guide is general education only - it is not medical advice and ScopeCoach is not a medical device. Hospitals differ, so always follow your own bowel preparation instructions. If they differ from this guide, your hospital's instructions win.
Before leaving home
Use your hospital's admission instructions as the main checklist. Confirm your arrival time, fasting or clear-fluid cut-off, and transport arrangements.
Common items to bring
- Photo identification and Medicare or private health details if requested
- Hospital paperwork and your written bowel preparation instructions
- A current medication list
- Glasses, hearing aids or mobility aids and their cases
- Your phone and the contact details of the person taking you home
- Loose, comfortable clothing
Transport after sedation
Most people must not drive themselves home after sedation. Confirm your hospital's rules about a responsible adult collecting you and staying with you afterwards.
Leave valuables at home
Bring only what you need. Follow any instructions about nail polish, jewellery, contact lenses or personal care.
