ScopeCoach is an educational companion designed to help people stay organised before a colonoscopy. It provides reminders, checklists and general educational information. It does not provide personalised medical advice or replace your healthcare team's instructions.
ScopeCoach is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or monitor any medical condition, and it does not assess your health, your bowel preparation or your readiness for a procedure. Nothing in the Services is, or is intended to be, medical advice, a medical opinion, or a clinical recommendation of any kind.
Your healthcare team's instructions always come first
Bowel preparation instructions differ between hospitals, specialists and preparation products. The official instructions given to you by your doctor, specialist, hospital or procedure unit are written for you, based on your health, your medications and the preparation product you have been prescribed.
If anything in ScopeCoach differs from your official instructions, always follow your official instructions. ScopeCoach content is general information only and may not apply to your situation. By using the Services, you acknowledge that a general information app cannot take account of your individual medical circumstances and that any reliance you place on the Services is at your own risk.
Medications
Do not stop, start or change prescription medication based only on information in ScopeCoach. Medication and supplement instructions can vary, so follow the instructions provided by your doctor, specialist or hospital.
No doctor-patient relationship
Using ScopeCoach does not create a doctor-patient, therapeutic or other healthcare relationship between you and ScopeCoach or anyone involved in creating it. ScopeCoach's content is not written for your individual circumstances and is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified health professional.
If you are unwell or unsure
If you have questions about your colonoscopy, your bowel preparation, your medications or your symptoms, contact your doctor, hospital or procedure unit.
If you feel seriously unwell during your preparation - for example severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, signs of dehydration, dizziness or fainting, chest pain, or confusion - contact your hospital or doctor immediately. Accuracy and currency of information
We take care to base ScopeCoach's educational content on relevant Australian, Queensland and local hospital preparation guidance, and we review our information sources periodically. You can view the key sources used by ScopeCoach on our Information Sources page. However, medical guidance changes over time and varies between providers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that the content is accurate, complete or current, and we exclude all liability (including liability in negligence) for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on the Services or their content.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (as it applies in Queensland under the Fair Trading Act 1989 (Qld)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
